Where to edit automatic messages sent for new users

Postby elearner » 06 Jan 2018, 19:43

I'm using Chamilo 1.11.4 and would like to edit Chamilo's automatic email messages sent for new users. I've looked through files in main/admin/ without any success. Any tips?

It should be under Admin tab in Portal section; last link: Event message management
To get this you have to enable it in the settings: Enable E-mail alert templates...
You then can create whatever you want as email and this will be sent out according to the event.

OUUPS, I forgot, when you register a new trainee make sure you tick the box to send the info :)

Thanks! I tried but it didn't work. I'd like to modify the content of the email that is sent to a new user with information about his username and password. So, where to modify the content that Chamilo automatically sends to new users?

As far as I remember, this is under "Events email" or equivalent.
This is an option you find when you activate event email through Administration.
Note that when you create the user, you have to tick the box "send an email to the user".

Let's assume you activated event messages in Portal Administration (link "Configuration Settings").
You now have a new link that appeared in "Portal" section: "Event message management "
Clicking on this link will open a new page with an icon representing a sheet ith a yellow/orange star.
Please click on that icon.
This open a new page.
clicking on "Event message management " will allow you to custom the message.
As I find the page straight forward, I doubt you need my help to create/modify the message.

I hope this helped

Thank you, I have tried that route, however, I have only the following titles in the box PortalHomePageEdited and UserRegistrationg in the Event message management. Just for curiosity I used both events and entered some text & sent a test email but nothing was sent to a new user. So I figured out that those titles won't send any message to a new user. Do I have something wrong with the configuration?

You have two actions to conduct (assuming that the SMTP is set and so on, so the platform is able to send messages).
The first one is to create the message itself (using the second link) and then, when creating a new user, to tick the box send message (something close to this option).

This should definitely work....
Good luck.
